Kids should get participation trophies.

1. It teaches kids the importance of hard work.

2. They get recognition for participating and they do not feel forgotten.

3. Counter Argument
3.1. Even though they aren't the winners or necessarily the best, they improved in the process and they still deserve recognition for participating and trying their best. Also their trophies do not have to be similar in size to the winners or recognized for the same thing. They could be recognized for most improved or best passer or full attendance for example.
4. It encourages them to continue their activity and believe in themselves.
