How Technology can support Bloom's Taxonomy in Education by Mind Map: How Technology can support Bloom's Taxonomy in Education

1. 2- Understanding: Technology offers different ways to explain the same concept to students. In Math fro example , you have many instructors who post their videos online explaining the same lesson but each in his/her different way. In many cases theory has to be presented through graphics or numbers to make more sense to the recipient.

2. 1-Remembering : Students can remember through the use of Bookmarking, Reminders sent, Integrated Calendars that can help manage their time and organize their activities especially search processes.

3. 3-Applying: Technology makes applying concepts very practical. For example, when students study a new problem solving technique in Math they can go home and practice solving while getting instant feedback from the site itself. Also through Technology students can look at different options of their work ( several colors, shapes, forms) before deciding on how they want their final report to look like.

4. 4- Analyzing: With the help of Technology any learner manages to get many explanations to what he/she is looking for. Students can gather several opinions about the same topic. Many platforms guide students throughout the analytical process.

5. 5- Evaluating: Students can take online tests to help them practice what they are learning. These tests will be part of their Digital Portfolio where they can see their progress on the same topic with time. For example online tests can be taken through Blackboard which enables both the students and the instructors to keep records better. Teachers can analyze the time spent by each student on each problem separately. This is a great tool to enable the teacher to know which skill each student needs to focus on. A student can get the problem right but after a lot of time. So here we know that what we need to focus on is the speed in solving not the the solving technique. Another example here is Skoolee.com

6. 6- Creating : This is where the value of Technology is very evident in Education. Technology makes it easy for students to create any presentation/report/experiment with simple steps and guidelines. For Example in a Marketing Course my students started a YouTube Channel for their product, created videos and were able to upload these videos and get immediate feedback from viewers. They adjusted and modified the videos accordingly. This helped them to get a sense of what people will like watching.
