2.1. The fastest, most powerful and most expensive computer that is capable of processing many trillions of instructions in a single second
2.2. Supercomputers generally run one program at a time, as fast as possible.
2.3. Applications requiring complex, sophisticated mathematical calculations use supercomputers.
2.4. Example: Online Banking, Automotive design, Aerospace, Weaher forecasting
3. Mainframes
3.1. A large, expensive, powerful computer that can handle hundreds or thousands of connected users simultaneously.
3.2. Capable of great processing speeds and data storage.
3.3. Run multiple applications simultaneously to serve a variety of users.
3.4. Enterprises are able to bill millions of customers, prepare payroll for thousands of employees, and manage thousands of items in inventory.
