1.1. Breast buds at 8
1.2. Pubic hair at 9
1.3. Menarche as early 10 or late 15
1.4. Rapid growth spurt at 9-14
2. Boys
2.1. Testicular/penile growth at 9
2.2. Pubic hair at 12
2.3. Nocturnal emissions & growth spurt at 12
2.4. Voice changes same time as penile growth
3. Behaviour
3.1. normal
3.1.1. while trying to find their identities, adolescents will start to distant themselves from trusted adults such as parents
3.1.2. often seek comfort in those who are experiencing similar changes in their bodies
3.1.3. joining peer groups to surround themselves with people that understand and are going through similar ordeals
3.1.4. starting to develop risk taking behaviour that is not harmful to themselves or others
3.2. Maladaptive
3.2.1. continuous absence from school
3.2.2. withdrawal from socializing and social settings
3.2.3. Hyperactivity/insomnia,continuous aggression or acting out
3.2.4. Excessive weight loss or gain
3.2.5. suicidal thoughts and drug abuse
