1. Meaning
1.1. A federation (also known as a federal state) is a political entity characterized by a union of partially self-governing states or regions under a central (federal) government.
2. Who has the Power to Rule
2.1. The power is partially with the state and partially with the Centre. ( In India for eg: The power is partially with the State and partially with the Prime Minister.
3. Rights of Citizens
3.1. Freedom to express yourself.
3.2. Freedom to worship as you wish.
3.3. Right to a prompt, fair trial by jury.
3.4. Right to vote in elections for public officials.
3.5. Right to apply for federal employment requiring citizenship.
3.6. Right to run for elected office.
3.7. Freedom to pursue “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
4. How do they get the Power.
4.1. They get the power partially by standing in an election for either state or centre.
