DECIDE by Mind Map: DECIDE

1. 1)Defining the problem: My friend group is deciding to sneak to a party at 10 pm tonight. They have invited me to join them, but my parents have asked me too stay home and watch my younger sisters while they are at dinner.

2. 2) Explore the alternatives: Well, I could go and have a great time with my friends, or I can either let my friends know that I do not want to go to the party and would rather listen and follow my parents rules, or I could tell them that I already have other plans tonight and lie to them.

3. 6) Evaluate the results: My friends were completely ok with me saying no. They said that they would not judge me for my decision, and I am very glad for that. I am glad I told the truth instead of being caught in a big lie afterwards.

4. 3) Consider the consequences: If I go, my sisters might wake up and be scared I am not there or my parents will come home and not find me. These two situations would both result in me getting in trouble. I would loose my parents trust and have many punishments maybe including no more parties.

5. 4) Identify your values: I value trust, honesty, respect, and responsibility. I also value my family and my integrity very much. BY going to the party, I would betray all of these values.

6. 5) Decide and act: I have decided that I am going to follow my values and tell my friends the truth. I will tell them that my parents want me to watch my sisters, and they do not want me going to a party. I grabbed my phone and responded to the invite.
