Last night my friend, Ava, asked me to sneak out to of my house past my curfew to go to a party down town. by Mind Map: Last night my friend, Ava, asked me to sneak out to of my house past my curfew to go to a party down town.

1. Consider the Consequences: At this stage in the process you are considering what is most likely to happen when you make you decision, how it will effect you and you future, and how it will effect others around you. In this scenario, if you decide to sneak out your parents will most likely be dissapointed in you and you will be in trouble, also you will have lost your parents trust and they will be unable to trust you in the future, you will also be tired the next day in school. If you do decide to sneak out you will be able to go to a party with Ava and stay up late.

2. Define the Problem: Ask yourself if this problem is serious enough to go through the Decide Process. In this case it is serious enough so you go on to the next step.

3. Explore the Alternatives: At this phase in DECIDE you should be making a list of possible solutions, if you need to look more deeply into the problem do so now. In this case some of the choices you can make are to sneak out past your curfew and go to the party or to tell Ava no and stay at home.

4. Identify your Values: At this point in the DECIDE process you should be considering your personal values and long term goals that will help you decide on your final decision. In this case you should decide that you value your parents trust and opinion of you more than a party and that this choice will help you in your future.

5. Decide and Act: After gathering all of you information from the past stages of DECIDE you need to decide which is the best choice and act on this decision. In this case your decision should be you are not going to sneak out becuase you want your parents to keep trusting you so you can do more fun things in the future and you also want to be well rested for school tommorow and you don't value a party over school.

6. Evaluate the Results: After you have put your decision into effect you should review what happened and if you are happy with your results. With this scenario you are happy with your decision because you were well rested and prepared for school the next day while Ava was tired, Also your parents were proud of you for making a good decision and they have decided to reward you with going out to ice cream with your other friend
