1.1. Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease

1.2. Malaria is a chronic disease. It affects the humans through mosquitoes. Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium.

2.1. Malaria can be effectively with one or more of the following medications:

2.1.1. • Chloroquine (Aralen)

2.1.2. • Quinine sulfate (Qualaquin)

2.1.3. • Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)

2.1.4. • Combination of sulfadoxine and pyrimethamine (Fansidar)

2.1.5. • Mefloquine (Lariam)

2.1.6. • Combination of atovaquone and proguanil (Malarone)

2.1.7. • Doxycycline (Doryx, Vibramycin, others).

2.1.8. Artemisinin-derived medications: Another class of ant malarial drugs, often prescribed in Asia and now in other parts of the world, is derived from artemisinin, a sweet wormwood extract. Artesunate is an example of an artemisinin derivative.
