1.2.1. It was a combination of monarchy and democracy
1.2.2. They had a king and it was dynasty at erech, far to the south
1.2.3. They were also a city-state and the king rule each city state
1.2.4. They had priests, scribes, and nobles to write thing and to show people there religion

2.1. shang/zhou
2.1.1. the shang zhou was located under the yellow river
2.1.2. they had fertile soil and a good area to become a better civilization
2.1.3. shangs dynisty was really known for there crop growing and milatry
2.1.4. the shang zhou really depended on there crops and resource to feed there dynasty
2.2. sumerians
2.2.1. they raised cattle, goats, sheep and pigs
2.2.2. Mesopotamia is divided into two parts upper mesopotamia and sumer
2.2.3. They grew barley, chickpeas, lentils, wheat, dates, onions, garlic, lettuce, leeks and mustard.
2.2.4. Northern Mesopotamia is made up of hills and plains the land is fertile because seasonal rains

3.1.1. the Zhou where the first ones to gather silk from silk worm
3.1.2. the Zhou have the advantage of using bronze coins
3.1.3. the empire first started finding different ways to fish and gather food like the fishing pole
3.1.4. this dynasty also evolved the calendar way past the way it was stated putting numbers into the calendar
3.2. sumerians
3.2.1. invented pre-cuneiform Sumerian writing
3.2.2. clay tablet as a writing medium is first seen in Sumer
3.2.3. they made the plow witch is for framing faster
3.2.4. they created levees to hold back the floods from their fields and cut canals to channel river water to the fields

4.1.1. the kings loved art that one of the main reasons the dynasty started painting
4.1.2. the shang/zhou had to learn all about the yellow river that they lived below
4.1.3. the shang/zhou didn't really have any education except fighting and tactics
4.1.4. then also they started to figure out that you can put your feelings and emotion in your work so now its fun and becoming better at art
4.2. sumerians
4.2.1. art is mainly about exploring and supporting the relationships between people and the gods
4.2.2. they learn about how the gods lived

4.2.4. wealthy families, studied and worked from sun up to sun down. Sumerians only focused on studying complex grammar, and practiced writing

6.1.3. the dynasty would trade animals that they would breed to make money or a trade
6.1.4. would carve and sharpen bones and make cloths with fur and would sell that for money

6.2.1. Sumer did not have many natural resources aside from fish, reeds, and mud bricks
6.2.2. Wood was especially scarce in the region they lived in so lumber became one of the key trade items
6.2.3. they depended on agriculture and trade
6.2.4. sumerians is regarded as the cradle of civilization because it saw the beginning of human settlement in an organized society

7.1.4. the shang zhous where really strict and close when everybody did there job everything went good

7.2.1. landholders and priests were the highest and next wealth merchants
7.2.2. they had slave and framed lands for food
7.2.3. women could do or go anywhere she wanted as long as she had her husband's permission
7.2.4. the men had more power then the women and they often had kids
