Abraham Lincoln

1. Early Life

1.1. Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Kentucky in the year 1809.

1.2. He was raised by his sister after his mom died when he was nine.

1.3. Though he did not attend school, he taught himself with borrowed books.

2. Before Presidency

2.1. Lincoln was a surveyor, shopkeeper, and log splitter before he become president.

2.2. At 25, he got his first political job in the Illinois legislature.

2.3. In 1945, he ran for congress and won.

2.4. Lincoln lost a race for senate due to his stance against slavery.

3. Presidency

3.1. Lincoln became president in 1860.

3.2. He served from 1861 to 1865 which was during the Civil War.

3.3. Lincoln's most famous accomplishments were his Gettysburg Address, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the concluding of the Civil War.

4. Assassination

4.1. Lincoln was assassinated in Ford Theatre in Washington D.C.

4.2. John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln during the play.

4.3. He died the following day on April 15, 1865.
