1. Verb
1.1. DESCRIBES what a person or thing does or what happens
1.1.1. Example: Action, Event, Situation, Change
2. Noun
2.1. Word that IDENTIFIES
2.1.1. Example: Person, Place, Thing, Idea, Quality, or State
3. Pronoun
3.1. Used in place of a noun that is already known
3.1.1. Example: Laura left early because she was tired.
4. Conjunction
4.1. Used to connect phrases, clauses, and sentences
4.1.1. Example: and, because, but, for, if, or, when
5. Exclamation
5.1. Word or phrase that expresses strong emotion
5.1.1. Example: Surprise, pleasure, or anger
6. Adjective
6.1. Describes a noun
6.1.1. Example: an EXCITING adventure
7. Adverb
7.1. Used to give information about a verb, adjective, or other adverb stronger or weaker. Often appear between the subject and its verb.
7.1.1. Example: She NEARLY lost everything
8. Preposition
8.1. Usually used in front of nouns or pronouns and show the relationship between the noun or pronoun and other words in the sentence.
8.1.1. Example: after, in, to, on, and with
9. Determiner
9.1. A word that introduces a noun
9.1.1. Example: a/an, the, every, this, those, and many
