And I had no map or compass- which was logical in a way because I didn't know how to use either anyway." (page 59) Crabbe set out on his escape not thinking "Hey maybe I should think about where I'm going to go and how I am going to get there."
3. Depressed
3.1. "It was to be the one perfect act I'd perform in my life, pure, clean, like the edge of a razor." (Crabbe.19)
3.2. "Where was Silent Sam when I really needed him? How good it would feel to have him soothing me, dissolving the angles and edges from my anxiety and depression." (Crabbe.57)
3.3. "So i began to prepare for my escape, a little depressed, a little scared and a little under the care of Silent Sam."(Crabbe.29)
4. Thoughtless
4.1. "Well, look: it's spring. Bears have been out of hibernation for only a few weeks. They're hungry. And it's around mating season, sot they're also bitchy. And the ones in that neighbourhood are well used to humans. What do you do? Throw peanuts around, spill fish old all over yourself, and leave candies in your tent. You invited every bear within miles to check you out! All you needed was a sign and an ad on T.V.!
