If you’re already using MindMeister for iOS mobile, you’ve probably noticed an update being pushed to you via iTunes. If you’ve not already done so, please update your MindMeister for iOS here.
We’d like to thank each and every beta tester that was involved in producing, what we believe, to be the best mobile mind mapping application on the market today. You’ve not only helped us address a few lingering issues, but also confirmed what we were after in this release: a massive drop in memory usage, making the application far less taxing on your iOS device.
Without getting too far into the technical details, we’ve rethought the mobile mind mapping process, and have taken advantage of iOS’s native Core Data model, bypassing our previous usage of XML based storage. In addition to increasing the performance and stability of the app, this new method also makes the synchronization with the live system faster and easier.
The full list of new features:
- Redesigned user interface
- Support for folders
- Unified map list
- Duplicate maps
- Ability to delete maps online
- Full background sync
- Export in .mind format
- Improved performance
- Reduced memory usage by 80%
- New sync architecture
Thanks again to all our beta testers, and should you experience any issues/problems with the update, you can always get in touch with us.
PS – And for the non-iOS mobile mind mappers out there, fret not, as we’re thiiiiiis close to submitting our MindMeister for Android to the Android Marketplace. Stay tuned!
Hi Guys
Great update to this app. The folder support alone has transformed the usefulness on the iPhone, it\’s also much quicker. Onward to the web app update soon (pretty please!).
Mark
Since upgrading to the latest iPhone version (2672) I can not see my mind maps!! my folders are empty. I have tried loving in again & re-booting. Phone is stuck on \”loading . . . \” It also crashes frequently.
Shame as it was a great app as I could sync with mind maps on my Mac. I was going to upgrade to premium, but will now at other solutions.
Tim
Thanks for the update, the folders feature is cool, just one thing I can\’t find or figure out? How on earth do I move maps from one folder to another – I cannot find a copy or move option anywhere? Drag and drop doesn\’t seem to work, I can\’t see an option to save in folder etc…….
It\’s great having folders but if there are no tools / options for moving / putting maps into specific folders the usefulness is greatly reduced!!
Hi Rick! To move maps into (and out of) folders, you\’ll need to login to your web based account and order from there. Thanks for getting in touch.
