Themes and Styles

Video Transcript

Hi and welcome back to MindMeister. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to enhance your mind maps with themes, styles, topic boundaries and icons. We’ll start by selecting another theme for our mind map. To do this, we’ll click on the Info button in the top bar and select a good-looking theme that fits our map’s purpose. This one here is great, but I’d like the colors to be slightly stronger, so we’ll use the customization option to modify them a bit. While we’re at it, we can also change the line style a little. Alright, this looks pretty good. To apply different styles to individual topics instead of the whole map, you can use the sidebar here on the right. You can change the topic’s text color, background color, font size and font style. If you want to attract more attention to a topic and its child topics, use the boundary option. Again, you can choose a premade design, or design your own boundary. Once you’ve created a design you like, you can also save it and use it in your other maps. In the sidebar you’ll also find a large collection of icons and emojis. Adding icons to a topic is a great way to draw attention to it, but you can also use them to indicate the status of a topic or add a priority. So this is how you customize and enhance your mind map. In our other tutorials, you can learn how to add notes, links, and images to maps; how to review your map’s change history, and much more - so be sure to check them out in MindMeister’s channel on YouTube!
