NATURAL SCIENCE UNIT 1 by Mind Map: NATURAL SCIENCE UNIT 1

1. NUTRIENTS ARE SUBSTANCES WICH PLANTS AND ANIMALS NEEDS TO LIVE AND GROW, AN INTESTINE OF AN ADULT CAN BE OF 9 METRES. TO GO TO THE TOILET IS ABOUT 24 AND 72 HOURS.

2. DIGESTION

2.1. OUR SENSE OF SMELL TRIGGERS THE PRODUCTN OS SALIVA. HELPS TO CRUSH THE FOOD.

2.2. THE TONGUE SHAPES THE FOOD IN FORM OF A BALL CALLED BOLUS, THEN WE SWALLOW, THE BOLUS PASSES INTO THE OESOPHAGUS, IS A TUBE WICH LINKS THE BACK PART OF THE THROAT WITH THE STOMACH. THE EPIGLOTTIS PREVENTS FOOD FROM GOING DAN THE WINDPIPE AND INTO THE LUNGS

2.3. THE STOMACH BREAK DOWN THE FOOD BY USING STRONG MUSCULAR WALLS EXCRETING GASTRIC JUICES TANH IS MIXED WITH THE BOLUS TO KILL DANGEROUS BACTERIA

2.4. WHEN THE FOOD IS DISOLVED PASSES TO THE SMALL INTESTINE, HERE ITS MIXED WITH THE BILE THAT IS PRODUCEDD BY THE LIVER, AND PANCREATIC JUICES THAT ARE PRODUCD BY THE PANCREAS. THE FOOD TRANSFORMED INTO PROTEINS, VITAMINS, CARBOHYDRATES, MINERALS AND FATS. IT PASSES INTO THE BLOOD

2.5. THE WASTE THAT WE DON´T NEED PASSES TO THE LARGINTESTINE AND THE WATER FROM THE WASTE GOES INTO THE BLOOD. THE WAASTE PRODUCTS THAT ARE SOLIDS LEAVES OUR BODY THROUGH THE ANUS.

3. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

3.1. BLOOD

3.1.1. IS MADE UP OF PLASMA, RED BLOOD CELLS, WITHCELLS AND PLATELETS

3.1.1.1. PLASMA

3.1.1.1.1. IS A YELLOWISH LIQUID THAT CARRIES NUTRIENTS AND WASTE PRODUCTS.

3.1.1.2. RED BLOOD CELLS

3.1.1.2.1. GIVE THE COLOR RED TO OUR BLOOD AND CARRY OXYGEN AND CARBON DIOXIDE.

3.1.1.3. WITHE BLOOD CELLS

3.1.1.3.1. FIGHT INFECTIONS THAT ENTERS TO OUR BODY.

3.1.1.4. PLATELETS

3.1.1.4.1. JOIN IN OUR BODY WHEN WE HAVE A CUT TO STOP THE BLEEDING.

3.1.1.5. BLOOD IS TRANSPORTED THROUG BLOOD VESSELS.

3.1.1.5.1. ARTERIES CARRY BLOOD THAT CONTAINS OXYGEN FROM THE HEART TO THE REST OF OUR BODY.

3.1.1.5.2. VEINS CARRY BLOOD WITH CARBON DIOXIDE BACK TO THE HEART.

3.1.1.5.3. CAPILLARIES CONECT ARTERIES AND VEINS AND HAVE SMALL WALLS SO GASES CAN PASS EASILY.

3.2. THE HEART

3.2.1. IS A MUSCLE WICH PUMBS BLOOD TO OUR BODY. USUALLY BEATS BETWEEN 60 AND 100 TIMES PER MINUTE BUT IT CAN GOES MUCH FASTER. WHEN WE DOEXERCISE ITS GOES FASTER.

3.2.2. ITS HAS 4 CHAMBERS, RIGHT AND LEFT ATRIA, RIGHT AND LEFT VENTRICLES AND VALVES.

4. PROCESS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

4.1. DEOXYGENATED BLOOD PASSES FROM THE RIGHT ATRIUM TO THE RIGHT VENTRICLE. THEN ITLEAVE THE HEART VIA THE PULMONARY ARTERY TO THE LUNGS.

4.2. INTO THE LUNGS THE BLOOD RELEASES CARBON DIOXIDE ANDOLLECTS THE OXYGEN, THEN ITS RETURN BACK TO THE HEART.

4.3. THE OXYGENATED BLOOD FLOWS INTO THE LEFT ATRIUM AND INTO THE LEFT VENTRICLE AND IS PUMPED THROUGH TE AORTA TOTHE BODY.

5. RESPIRATION

5.1. WE INHALATE CARBON DIOXIDE AND ABSORB OXYGEN.

5.2. TRACHEA ALVEOLUS, BRONCHUS, BRONCHI AND DAPHGRAM.

6. EXCRETORY SYSTEM

6.1. EXCRETORY SYSTEM ELIMINATES SUBSTANCES THAT ARE DANGEROUS FROM OUR BODY.

6.2. THE PARTS ARE THE RENAL ARTERYES, KIDNEYS, URETER, BLADDER AND URETHRA.
